Diecast Garage

Point your phone at any die-cast car, loose or carded, any brand. It names the casting, files it in your garage and shows what it sells for right now.

Built for the table you are standing at

At a table you have three questions and about ten seconds. What is it? What is it worth? Do I already have it? The app answers all three from your phone.

Hundreds of carded die-cast cars laid out edge to edge across a large table

Question 1 of 3: what is it?

Know what it is before you pay

One photo. Casting, brand, series, year and colour come back in seconds. For a loose car, flip it over and it reads the base stamp too.

And it tells you on the spot if that exact release is already in your garage.

A scan result: matched at 98 percent as the Hot Wheels Tooned Volkswagen Golf Mk1, with a warning that this exact release is already in your garage

Question 2 of 3: what is it worth?

See what it actually sells for

Your garage carries a running total, and each car a value range built from live marketplace listings and sales logged by collectors, with a 30-day trend. Your own number overrides ours whenever you know better.

Ranges, with a date on them. Never a single made-up number.

Question 3 of 3: do I already have it?

Stop buying the one you already own

Your whole collection in your pocket, sorted by brand, maker, era and series. One tap shows your doubles, Series Hunt shows the gaps, and the wishlist pings you when a car you want shows up at your price.

Full CSV export any time. Your list is yours, not ours.

An early beta, said plainly

The app is new and the tester group is small. So instead of borrowed hype, here is what you can check yourself.

I built this to stop buying repeated casts. Every time I’m looking at pegs at a store, I'm amazed by some cool cars and let my instincts take over. I’m not embarrassed to say my instincts were wrong many times.

I don’t carry my spreadsheets or a database to Walmart. I do carry my phone, though, so it just felt natural. Hence, Diecast Garage was born.

My love for cars, of all shapes and sizes, fuels the passion that led me to build this app. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and that you help me make it the best Die-Cast Collector app on the market.

Every car in the app becomes a trading card with its spec sheet and a dated value on the back. This one is live right now.
Open a real card and flip it
This space is for you.

Try it this weekend and tell us what it got right and what it got wrong. The first collector quotes on this page will come from CDX.

No subscription. That is a founding rule.

Other collection apps charge by the month. This one never will. It is free to start, and beta collectors keep room for every car they add before launch, for good.

Later on there will be optional one-time extras, such as more garage capacity or research Fuel. You buy them once and keep them. Nothing you use today gets taken away to sell back to you.

Fair questions

Will it know my brand, or just Hot Wheels?

Any brand. Recognition looks at the car itself instead of matching against a fixed list, so Mini GT, Tomica, Kaido House, boutique resin and oddball castings all work. Try the strangest car on your shelf first.

How accurate is it, really?

Strongest on carded cars, good on loose ones, and better with a second angle or the base stamp. When it is unsure it says so and shows you the candidates. You can correct any field, and corrections make it better for everyone.

Where do the values come from?

Live marketplace listings plus sales logged by collectors, with outliers filtered out. You get a range and a date, not a single magic number. They are a collector's guide, not an appraisal, and your own figure always wins.

What is the catch with free?

There is no subscription and there never will be. Eventually there will be optional one-time purchases for extra capacity or deeper research. Some shopping links earn us a small referral fee at no cost to you. That is the whole business model.

Who sees my collection and what I paid?

Nobody, unless you decide otherwise. Everything is private by default. Share links and public profiles are opt-in and can be revoked in one tap, and no public page ever shows what you paid. You can delete your account and data from inside the app.

I have hundreds of cars. Do I have to scan them one by one?

No. Photograph a 5-pack and the whole lineup goes in at once, confirm a stack of scans in one pass, or add cars by hand. Most collectors start with the display case and do a shelf a night.

It is a beta. What if it disappears with my data?

Your collection is backed up on our servers, and you can export everything to CSV whenever you like. If you ever leave, your list leaves with you.
